If there’s one thing almost everyone can agree on, it’s that a cartoon mouse is preferable to a real one. Because while real mice can be cute, particularly while in a cage at the pet store, they are certainly not cute when they are scurrying across your floor after eating through three boxes of cereal in the cupboard.

The good news is that one particularly talented artist by the name of Loïc Apreda has created a friendly little mouse he calls Rikki and we assure you, he won’t be eating cereal any time soon. The Swiss illustrator claims that the mouse has a life of its own – he loves chocolate and peanuts, enjoys hitting the gym and even playing with his pet snail, George.

Apreda’s technique, which includes integrating everyday objects into his illustrations, makes little Rikki come alive. So far, Rikki has amassed quite a few fans around the world who offer the illustrator all kinds of new ideas for keeping the little mouse busy. Take a look.
