The most irritating thing about being newlyweds is probably the incessant questions from mothers, mothers-in-law, aunts, grandmas, and every other person they come across who, without an ounce of shame, ask when you’re going to have a baby.
Abby and Matt, a young couple from Australia, were sick and tired of hearing their parents’ incessant nagging, so they decided to take action to shut them up once and for all. Their family expanded, alright. But their new baby did not exactly meet their parents’ expectations. Instead of getting themselves a whiny pink creature, the two became parents to Humphrey, a furry little puppy they decided to adopt.
But since, in our day and age, there’s no such thing as a new addition to the family without a proper photoshoot, they did that too.
The concept for the photoshoot was that of Elisha Minnette, a good friend of the couple who also happens to be a super talented professional photographer. The idea of having a set of original photographs came to mind when she went went with the couple to adopt the dog from a breeder.
Minnette calls the shoot a “light-hearted” joke about parents who arrange similar shoots with their newborn babies.
“Abby and I have the craziest sense of humor and we feed off of each other with ideas,” said Minnette. “The shoot was hilarious. Everything went so smoothly The pup was enjoying every second of it and all the treats he was getting.”
She published the photos on her Facebook page and was surprised by the thousands of responses, likes and shares that the photos received. “We did this shoot just for a little bit of humor between ourselves, as well as for those that share the same sense of humor as us. People may say we have way too much time on our hands to do this photo shoot, but that’s not the case. We just prefer to be creative!”
And here are a few more sweet photos of the happy couple with their latest addition, Humphry.
