The world is filled with problems. All kinds of them, in fact. We usually prefer to try and ignore them and live our lives without thinking too hard. There are some people out there, however, like, for example, the talented man behind this next series of illustrations, that don’t shy away from reality and, instead, prefer to look it right in the eye.
Marco Malgrati, a talented graphic illustrator from Italy, created a particularly sharp and provocative set of illustrations entitled “The Sad Truth” in which he offers commentary on the social issues plaguing modern society. His drawings touch upon issues such as greed, impossible standards of beauty, a corrupt economy, our addiction to technology, twisted values and many other social issues that force us to think about the world around us.
Aside from the sharp criticism the artist offers, Marco’s incredible work, which is published in magazines everywhere from Italy to Mexico to the United States, also offers a little glimmer of optimism with positive messages for anyone who still has not fallen in step with the sweeping changes technology has brought upon our society.
We’ve collected 30 of Malgrati’s most powerful images and if you’d like to see more, definitely check out his Instagram account (link at the end of the post).
